How to use the Pacific MDG Network

The Pacific MDG Network is a electronic network of MDG practitioners based in the Pacific that would like to share information and knowledge about accomplishing the MDGs.

How do I post a message?
If you are a registered member and would like to send an email to the Pacific MDG Network, simply send an email to ap-mdg.pacific@groups.undp.org.

Members of the Pacific MDG Network are also part of the wider Asia-Pacific MDG Community of Practice.  If you would like to send an email to the Asia-Pacific MDG Community of Practice, please send an email to ap-mdg@groups.undp.org.

If you have any difficulties or questions, please email Jennifer Namgyal on jennifer.namgyal@undp.org.

When do I use the Network?
Active involvement and participation of the network members offers the opportunity to highlight their work, successful initiatives and innovative approaches, learn about new funding, training opportunities and events and raise individual profile as a practitioner within the Pacific MDG community.

Network members should use the Network in the following scenerios

For example:
  • “Does anyone have access to the latest MDG global report/template for MDG reporting/research paper?"

  • “Does anyone have information or experience in implementing specific methodologies such as MDG Needs Assessment and Costing? What are the results? If so, perhaps we could discuss.”

  • “As an NGO/CSO, I have been asked to engage in the policy or budget process by Government.  Does anyone else have experience in doing this?”
Any time you want to share your experience, best practices and lessons learnt, for example
  • You have just finished a project that you think is really good and may be useful to others. Please send to the network

  • Or (importantly), you have just completed a project that hasn't worked as expected, perhaps you could write a few bullet points about what you learned during this project

  • Or share lessons learned in advocacy on specific issues

Any time you want to share news about events, workshops, trainings etc, for example
What shouldn’t I post?
The Pacific MDG Network is an non-facilitated network allowing any member of the Pacific MDG Network can email the whole group to ask a question or share information.

The emails posted to the group should relate to achievement of the MDGs or be of relevance to the Pacific Island countries. If you are uncertain please contact Jennifer, our Knowledge Management Officer, on jennifer.namgyal@undp.org.

Please note: The views expressed in the Pacific MDG Network are those of the individual author(s) and do not necessarily represent those of the United Nations, including partner agencies, or Member States.
